Drive with complete peace of mind
At Mirage Motors, your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities. All our luxury vehicles and supercars come with industry-leading insurance coverage. Please review the details below to understand what is included in your standard rental and what premium upgrades are available.
1. Standard Comprehensive Insurance
Every vehicle rented from Mirage Motors includes comprehensive insurance as required by UAE law. This standard tier covers:
- ✦Third-party liability in the event of an accident where you are at fault.
- ✦Damage to the rental vehicle in the event of an accident where you are NOT at fault (Green Police Report required).
- ✦Fire and theft protection.
The Excess (Deductible)
Under standard insurance, if you are at fault in an accident (Red Police Report) or the third party is unknown (hit-and-run), you are liable to pay an insurance excess fee. This fee varies between AED 3,000 to AED 10,000 depending on the vehicle class.
2. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
For ultimate peace of mind, Mirage Motors offers an optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) upgrade. This is not an insurance policy, but a waiver that limits your financial liability.
- ✦Reduces your excess/deductible liability to ZERO in the event of an at-fault accident.
- ✦Covers hit-and-run damages where the third party is unknown.
- ✦Can be added to your rental agreement for a daily premium rate (varies by vehicle class).
*Note: CDW strictly requires a valid UAE Police Report to be activated.
3. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
While comprehensive insurance covers the vehicle and third parties, Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) protects the people inside the rental vehicle. This optional upgrade provides:
Medical Coverage
Covers emergency medical expenses and ambulance fees for the driver and passengers resulting directly from a traffic accident in the rental vehicle.
Fatality & Disability
Provides a lump-sum compensation in the unfortunate event of accidental death or permanent disability caused by a collision during the rental period.
4. The Mandatory Police Report
In the United Arab Emirates, insurance companies operate under strict regulations regarding vehicle damage.
Absolutely NO insurance coverage (including CDW) is valid without an official UAE Police Report.
- ✦If the vehicle is scratched in a parking lot, you must call the police or use the Dubai Police App to get an "Unknown Damage" report.
- ✦If you are involved in a collision, do not move the vehicle (unless it is a minor accident blocking traffic) until the police arrive or you file the report via the app.
- ✦Failure to produce a police report makes the renter 100% financially liable for all repair costs and agency fees, regardless of fault.
5. Insurance Exclusions
The following scenarios immediately void all insurance coverage (including CDW) and leave the renter fully liable for all damages, impound fees, and loss of revenue:
- ✦Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any intoxicating substances.
- ✦Damage to tires, rims, and the undercarriage (unless caused by a documented traffic collision).
- ✦Interior damage to the vehicle (e.g., cigarette burns, stains, torn leather, or damaged electronics).
- ✦Using the vehicle for racing, drifting, dune bashing, or track days.
- ✦Allowing an unregistered or underage driver to operate the vehicle.
